The Department of Social and Political Sciences (SPS) at Bocconi University is inviting applications for a faculty position at Assistant Professor level in Economic History with an appointment beginning on September 1, 2020. The area of specialization is business history. The ideal candidate does high-quality research on historical processes affecting businesses, enterprises and/or industrial sectors, with particular attention to the modern era (nineteenth to twenty-first centuries). The ideal candidate has experience in conducting comparative studies (cross-country) and/or in adopting a global history approach, and has at least some demonstrable ability to work with primary (archival) sources.
The successful candidate is expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Knowledge of Italian is not required. Applicants should hold or expect a PhD in economic history, economics or equivalent before September 1, 2020. Terms of employment are competitive. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate strong potential in research and an ability to publish in top international journals in business history and general economic history.
