Iberometrics 2021

Call for papers – X Iberometrics, Lisbon, Portugal, 9-10 June 2021

Iberometrics gathers every two years specialists in Iberian Economic History, who present and discuss their research on Spanish, Portuguese or Iberian quantitative economic history, including the colonial period as well as comparative studies that take the Portuguese and/or Spanish cases into consideration.
The venue for the Congress alternates between Spain and Portugal. This time the event will take place at Nova School of Business and Economics, located in Carcavelos, a seaside town near Lisbon.
Anyone wishing to present a paper should submit a 500-700 word abstract until November 2, 2020. Decisions regarding acceptance will be given on January 4, 2021. Final versions of the accepted papers are expected until May 10, 2021, to be circulated among discussants.

Papers should be sent to: iberometrics2021@gmail.com

Note on COVID-19: Iberometrics is traditionally a sponsored event, implying no paid registration for participants. However, due to the extremely difficult current economic circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, sponsors have been difficult to find. The effort of the Organising Committee to find sponsors continues, but the results of the search are uncertain. This means that the possibility exists for a registration fee to be asked from participants. The Committee understands this is new for Iberometrics but also believes that potential participants understand its possible need due to the very special circumstances we are passing through. Information about this situation will be updated.
