AGRICLIOMETRICS IV
Quantitative Approaches to Rural, Agricultural and Environmental History
Figuerola Institue of History and Social Sciences Universidad Carlos III, Madrid
25-26 June, 2020
The Fourth AGRICLIOMETRICS Conference is to be held in Madrid on 25th and 26th of June, 2020. It will be organized in Figuerola Institue of History and Social Sciences, Universidad Carlos III of Madrid, with the assistance of colleagues from New York University Abu Dhabi, the University of Zaragoza, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Norwegian University of Science and Technology. This conference aims to offer scholars working on quantitative rural, agricultural and natural resources history (and related issues) an opportunity to discuss their work in progress. We welcome papers on topics related to the use of quantitative techniques for the understanding of relevant problems in rural, agricultural and environmental history. Given the benefits arising from a cross-disciplinary dialogue, papers coming from different disciplines are particularly encouraged, especially from demographers, economists, sociologists, political scientists and historians. Papers by young scholars are especially welcome.
Anyone wishing to present a paper should send a 500 word abstract by no later than December 31st, 2019 to: pablo.martinelli@uc3m.es. Decisions regarding acceptance will be sent out no later than January 30th, 2020.
Final versions of the accepted papers are expected by no later than June 1st, 2020. They will be circulated to all participants prior to the meeting and published on the workshop website. The organizers offer a limited number of grants to cover accommodation and meals costs for graduate students invited to present a paper.
Scientific Board: Francisco Beltrán Tapia (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), Giovanni Federico (New York University Abu Dhabi), Vicente Pinilla (University of Zaragoza) and Patrick Svensson (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences). Local Organizing Committee: Eva Fernández and Pablo Martinelli (Universidad Carlos III of Madrid). All correspondence should be addressed to pablo.martinelli@uc3m.es
